  13. <p>   [Text] The 2,000-strong Russian community in Nagorno-Karabakh
  14. has appealed to the Russian leadership to protect the region's
  15. Russian-speaking population and help the Nagorno-Karabakh
  16. Republic's international recognition.
  17. </p>
  18. <p>   The appeal notes that along with the Armenians and
  19. Azerbaijanis, the Russian-speaking population is sustaining
  20. losses and suffering. For example, [words indistinct] Meli
  21. Mrove, deputy chief doctor of the Stepanakert emergency aid
  22. hospital, was killed. Military Prosecutory Igor Plazasin and his
  23. aide Aleksandr Goronskov were seriously injured during fierce
  24. shelling of Stepanakert.

  26. <p>   There are still Russian villages in Nagorno-Karabakh even
  27. under these conditions, but there will be no more room for
  28. Russians in villages that are under Azerbaijani jurisdiction.

  30. <p>   The Russian community also declared that the (?military)
  31. operations launched by the Azerbaijani Army against the
  32. Armenians prevent the Russian Orthodox Church from resuming its
  33. activities in Nagorno-Karabakh.
